My New Best Friend

I had always thought that a rotary cutter and self healing mat were only for quilters....which I am not.  I didn't see the need of one for my self until I started cutting out lots of straight lined pieces for ruffle pants and apron dresses.  I thought, there's got to be a better way!  So, I put a rotary cutter and mat on my Christmas List.

Daniel's parents were so kind to get me both as part of my Christmas!

I decided to give them a try yesterday.  WOW!  These sure do make life easier!  I cut out several straight pieces for ruffle pants then decided to see how they would work on curves.  WOW again!  I just laid my pattern piece out.... no need to pin..... hold down in place with one hand and "trace" the pattern with the rotary cutter with the other hand.

I'm sure gonna love having these!
Thanks Mark and Betty for my gift!

Just playing around

Well, today I was just playing around with the Sarah Peasant Dress and wanted to add a little something to it.

Matilda Jane Knock-Off

How's this for a Matilda Jane knock-off?
Several months ago, a friend asked me to make an apron dress for her daughter.  I had been admiring these dresses as well, so I thought I would give it a try.  I love how old-fashioned it looks.  In the picture above, I have paired the apron dress with matching ruffle pants.

I'll be listing these in my Etsy shop soon.
If you are interested in purchasing one, I'm selling them for $40 each.

This one will fit a girl size 8-10, and is ready to find a home.  These are made so that it can be worn for more than one year,
and definitely more than one season.

Imagine putting a long-sleeve brown tee under this for fall!  So cute!

No two of these will be identical!
